Climate Resilience in Africa: Advancing Dialogue, Partnership and Risk Preparedness
Nudge Bridge convened an event in South Africa, bringing together African government officials, business leaders, and NGOs to discuss climate resilience and risk management. Through dialogue and partnership, participants explored locally informed adaptation strategies, preparedness, and institutional capacity to support sustainable development and long-term social and economic stability across Africa.

Climate risks have far-reaching implications for communities, infrastructure, businesses, and long-term development. Climate change is a key concern for Nudge Bridge, which is why we convened an event in South Africa connecting international NGOs and charitable organizations, government officials from African countries, and business leaders to discuss climate resilience and risk management in Africa. The gathering created a forum for dialogue across sectors and regions, connecting development experience, public policy perspectives, and private sector insight around a shared challenge: strengthening the capacity of communities, institutions, and economies to respond to climate risks.
Climate resilience requires both an understanding of local vulnerabilities and the ability to translate that understanding into effective action. Discussions explored the relationship between climate adaptation, risk preparedness, and sustainable development, with particular attention to the importance of cooperation among governments, businesses, and civil society. The event provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on how these stakeholders can contribute complementary expertise and resources to more resilient development.
At the heart of the gathering was a commitment to meaningful international dialogue grounded in African priorities. By bringing African decision-makers and enterprise leaders into conversation with Western NGOs and charities, the event encouraged a shared understanding of the challenges facing the continent and the opportunities for collaborative responses. It established a foundation for continued engagement on approaches to climate resilience that reflect local needs, strengthen institutional capacity, and support long-term social and economic stability.
